Howard Russell Gatliff, 81, of Union, KY, passed away Thursday March 4, 2021 at Boonespring Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Born Friday September 8, 1939 in Gatliff, KY, he was the son of the late James and Nannie McKiddy Gatliff.
Howard spent much of his life with Teco Industries as a Surface Coal Miner. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962-64.
Survivors include, one daughter: Becky Carpenter of Independence, KY and two granddaughters, whom affectionately referred to him as “Pa Paw”: Beth Hojnacki of Bowling Green, KY and Katie Carpenter of Independence, KY. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Lawrence Gatliff, Marshall Gatliff, Arthur Croley, Archie Croley and two sisters: Jeanette Barton and Ruth Riggs.
A committal service will be held on Friday March 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery – North (KVC-N) with full Military Honors.
Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown location has been entrusted with Mr. Gatliff’s final arrangements.
