Howard L. Ransdell

December 13, 1932 — August 26, 2024

Howard L. Ransdell was born December 13, 1932 in Owenton, Kentucky and passed away August 26, 2024 at his residence in Burlington, Kentucky at the age of 91.  He was the son of the late Howard and Kathryn Doty Ransdell.

Howard was a 1951 graduate of Corinth High and went on to graduate from Chase Business College.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict spending two years of service in Germany.  Howard retired from  Western-Southern Insurance Co. as Manager of Agency Division after 31 years with the company, then worked 19 years for ComAir at CVG airport.

Howard was a dedicated member of First Church of Christ, Burlington as well as the Model A Ford Club.  He also had many hobbies that he enjoyed in his free time.  He loved the outdoors, especially vegetable gardening and rabbit hunting.  He also enjoyed coin collecting, his beagle dogs, baseball, college basketball, and pro football.  But he found his greatest joy in restoring and collecting antique cars, more specifically the Model A Ford.

On December 18, 1954, Howard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marilyn Jeannine Dunn Ransdell, who preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 2016.  He is survived by his daughter: Debbie (Steve) Henderson of Batavia; his son: Doug (Mary) Ransdell of Hayden, Idaho; four grandchildren: Annette (Dave) Dryden, Alan (Dina) Henderson, Curtis (Spencer) Ransdell and Lindsey (Mike) Parece; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and John Ransdell, two sisters, Avenelle Dixon and Doris Ransdell, and one great granddaughter.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY  41097. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, 3735 Cordova Rd., Williamstown, KY  41097 or to the Bluegrass Hospice Care, 51 Cavalier Blvd., Florence, KY 41042.
