Ida K. Hammond

Mrs. Ida Kathryn Hammond of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, January 27 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY. at the age of 84.  Mrs. Hammond was born December 8, 1935 in Corinth, KY. to the late Tom Baker and Zetta Scroggins Baker.  Mrs. Hammond was a retired sign painter for American Sign Co. in Florence, KY. and at the time of her passing she remained a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hammond was a passionate fan of dirt track racing and she and her late husband would travel great distances to attend these races.  She also was a big fan of bluegrass music and horse racing.  She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and also enjoyed the occasional trip to a casino boat.

Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by a son: Michael David Hammond on Dec. 9, 1973 and by her husband: Delbert Hammond on Feb. 19, 2013.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by a daughter: Deborah Cruey of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 sons: Greg Hammond of Dry Ridge, KY., Timmy Hammond of Williamstown, KY. She has 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Kathryn Hammond will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, February 3 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY. 41097 with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating.  Visitation will also be Monday, February 3 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the funeral home to go toward expenses.
