Irvin "Irv" Duane Brandjord

April 24, 1937 — March 10, 2024

I rvin Duane Brandjord , 86, of Dry Ridge, KY went to live in eternal paradise with his heavenly Father on Sunday morning March 10, 2024 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born on April 24, 1936 in Columbus, North Dakota, he was the son of the late John Iver and Marie Nelson Brandjord.

“Irv”, as he was affectionately known, loved the Lord, his Savior more than anything in life.  His faith was the foundation of his life. Many lives have been touched by his one-on-one care for others, which included counseling, lending an open ear and passing out tracts everywhere he went, praying those experiences would lead to a lost soul won to the Lord. He retired as an Over-the-Road truck driver with over 3.5 million accident-free miles, in all kinds of weather and road conditions.  For many years he served as a Trustee for Baptist Temple Church in Great Fall, Montana.  His current membership was at Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville.

Being an avid outdoorsman, his life was filled with much excitement and adventure; those adventures included fishing, hunting and camping as well as cross-country skiing. Motorcycling with his friends also caused him to become the Motorcycle Hill Climbing Champion. He always enjoyed a challenge; one of his most memorable ones was playing ice hockey on a motorcycle with the legendary Evil Knievil.

On September 3, 1960 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Joann Yvonne Morse, a union that lasted 63 beautiful and rewarding years. Together, they raised two lovely daughters: Kyla Marie (Tommy) Douglas of Dry Ridge, KY and Kari Jo Ann (Russ) Young of Sand Point, Idaho. They were also blessed with a beautiful and caring granddaughter: Sidnee Nicole (Charlie) Thomas of Orland, California. He was preceded by all his siblings: Kermit Brandjord, Merrill Brandjord, Isabel Stevonick, Jeannie Oakes, Louise, Joyce, Orda McKibbon and Lyla Brandjord.

On Sunday morning March 10, 2024 at 8:23 a.m., the Lord looked down on Irv, in light of his commitment and devotion to the Kingdom and said, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant…come now and enter the joy of the Lord.”   A Celebration of Irv’s life will be held in Montana at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Irv’s memory to: Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, C/O  Stanley Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 130, Williamstown, KY  41097.
