Jack Calvin Eckler

J ack Calvin Eckler, 81, a lifelong resident of Williamstown, KY, passed away Thursday April 8, 2021 at Florida Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale. Born October 27, 1939 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky, he was the son of the late John William and Amma Pauline Mire Eckler.

On January 25, 1969, Jack married the former Nancy Marie Campbell; she preceded him in death on August 12, 2004.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time on the family farm. After graduating from Williamstown High School in 1957, he attended the University of Kentucky for two years. He was a civil engineer for the State of Kentucky Transportation Department where he retired in June of 1989.  He also worked as an Estimator and Project Superintendent with Hale Contracting Company.  He was a member of the Kentucky Cattleman’s Association, KATE – Kentucky Association of Transportation Engineers and Williamstown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his sons: Dan Eckler of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, John (Jennifer) Eckler of Georgetown, KY; two sisters: Loris Points of Lexington, KY, Janis Fox of Frankfort, KY; two brothers: Chuck Eckler of Richmond, KY;  Richey Eckler of Elberton, GA, along with three grandchildren: Joseph, Jennamarie and Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by a sister: Gail Eckler and a brother: Dawson Eckler.

Funeral services at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Elliston Stanley Funeral Home - Williamstown.  Visitation will be 11:00-2:00 at the funeral home.  Rev. John Keith will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
