James “Buddy” Walter Perkins, 88, of Williamstown, KY passed away Wednesday July 13, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Florence. Born Monday December 4, 1933 in the Scott Co., KY, he was the son of the late Melvin Sanford and Mary Frances Downing Perkins.
On February 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to the former Emma Lee Cook, a union that lasted 67 years; she survives. For many years he worked in construction; 18 of those years were spent with Foley Construction. He always enjoyed farming but his greatest enjoyment came from watching his grandkids play baseball. As a young boy he was baptized at Antioch Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Perkins; one daughter: Pamela Sue Clemons of Dry Ridge, KY; one son: Terry Lee (Lori) Perkins of Evansville, IN; one brother: Avery (Jan) Perkins of Monroe, OH and two sisters: Pauline Bruce of Georgetown, KY and Wilma (Eddie) Sydnor of Williamstown, KY. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Melissa Jo (Josh) Adkins, Brian Anthony Perkins, Kim Carney, Shannon Carney, Brian Adams and nine great-grandchildren: Eli Adkins, Wyatt Adkins, Rylee, Mason, Liam, Logan, Koty, Alyssa and Brooke.
Visitation will be Monday July 18, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Bro. Darrell Link officiating. Burial will follow in the New Columbus Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Brian Perkins, Josh Adkins, Drew Beckett, Steve Adkins, Harry Cook, Ryan Cook and Eli Adkins.
