Ernest Haddix

Ernest Haddix, a resident of Verona, died at 91 years of age.  He died Thursday, May 9th, at his home surrounded by family after a long illness.

He was an Army veteran and lifelong farmer.  He served on the Gallatin Co. Fire, Wind and Lightning Insurance Board for 20 years.  He also served on the Gallatin Co. Tax Board and Gallatin Co. Conservation Board for 15 years.  One of his favorite pasttimes was listening to bluegrass and gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla and Gladys Haddix; as well as his sister, Kathleen Arnette, and his brother, Elwood Haddix.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 70 years: Agnes Haddix; 2 sons: Ronald Haddix (Jenny) of Fairfield, OH and Montell Haddix (Sally) of Verona; and 3 daughters: Linda Wendel (Steve) of Verona, Tina Yancey (Nelson) of Walton and Elaine Jones (Steve) of Verona.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona with Bro. Dave Shanklin presiding.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, May 13, 2019 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
