James Thurman Henage

Mr. James Thurman Henage of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Friday, March 8 at his residence at the age of 79.  Mr. Henage was born October 24, 1939 in Corinth, KY. to the late J. W. Henage and Mildred Nicholson Henage.  Mr. Henage retired from General Motors after many years of service.  Mr. Henage was a charter member and Elder with the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.  He also worked tirelessly at his church in many roles, performing any task that needed attention.  Mr. Henage was a member of the Crittenden-Dry Ridge Lodge #694 F & AM and had been a Past Master.  He served for one year as District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of KY., he was a member of the York Rite, and the Oleika Temple of the Shrine in Lexington, KY.  Mr. and Mrs. Henage enjoyed going to Florida for the winters and did this for many years.  When in Florida Mr. Henage attended the Westside Christian Church in Okeechobee, Florida.

Mr. Henage was preceded in death by his parents: J. W. Henage in 1983, Mildred Nicholson Henage Dempsey in 2007, by brothers: Roger Henage in 1968 and Carl E. Henage in 2012.

Mr. Henage is survived by his wife of 57 years: Billie Jo Arthur Henage, a daughter: Nancy Bradley and her husband Doug of Crittenden, KY., a son: Todd Henage and his wife Diane of Dry Ridge, KY., grandchildren: Jeremy Todd Henage and his wife Amy, Rachel Erin Beach and her husband Jordan, Caleb Daniel Bradley, Elayna Brooke Bradley, a great granddaughter: Maci Jean Beach, brothers: Larry J. Henage of Covington, KY.,  Rogan L. Henage of New Columbus, KY., a step brother: Eddie Dempsey and his wife Jeanette of Georgetown, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. James T. Henage will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, March 15 at the Violet Ridge Church of Christ, 1000 Violet Road, Crittenden, KY. 41030 with Bro. Jeff Curtis and Bro. Dave Shanklin officiating.  Visitation will also be at the Violet Ridge Church of Christ on Thursday, March 14 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
