Janet Rose Smith

J anet Rose Smith, 60, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away on Sunday June 13, 2021 at her residence.  Born August 27, 1960 in Hamilton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Henry Robert and Gertrude Frances Ernst Osborne.

Janet was united in marriage to David Ray Smith on March 4, 2005; he survives.  She served as a Tax Examining Technician for the IRS in Florence. She enjoyed fishing with her family, bowling, cooking, solving crossword puzzles and always looked forward to the “Girls Night Out” adventure. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Church of Christ.

She leaves to carry on her legacy, her husband: David Ray Smith; two sons: Jason (Ashley) Rigney of Naperville, IL, Josh (Jen) Rigney of Foster, KY; a step-son: David R. Smith II of Falmouth; two step-daughters: Casey Simons of Radcliff, KY and Amber Fancote of Dry Ridge; one brother: Gary “Butch” Osborne of Hamilton, OH and two sisters: Arlene (Don) O’Banion of Trenton, OH and Geri (John) Nevils of Springfield, TN.  Also surviving are her grandchildren: Lillian Rigney, Nora Rigney, Dawson Smith, Dylan Smith, Danaca Smith, Jacob Huth, Caleb Huth, Matthew Huth, Ben Huth, Ricky Fancote, Sophia Fancote, Tianna Simons and C.J. Simons.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy King.

Visitation will be Saturday June 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown location). Funeral services will begin at 1:00.  Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
