Janice Sponcil

Janice Sponcil of Crittenden, KY was born February 13, 1944 in Warrenton, VA and passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 in Edgewood, KY at the age of 78 years.

She was the daughter of the late Raymond Kenneth and Anna Bertha Payne Brown. She was a retired self- employed hairdresser, farmer, and a member of the Sherman Church of Christ. On June 22, 1984 she was united in marriage to her husband, Jerry Sponcil. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Edward E. Brown, Joseph R. Brown and James E. Brown.

Surviving is her husband Jerry Sponcil of Crittenden; 1 son, W. Thomas Leach of Dry Ridge; 1 daughter, Terri Kinmon of Dry Ridge; 1 step-daughter, Tona Smith of Springfield, KY; 8 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Jacob Kramer, Jared Smith, Conner Kinmon, Claire Kinmon, Hayley Leach, Matthew Leach and Nicolas Smith; and 3 great-grandchildren, Braxton Kramer, Ellie Smith and Emerald Kramer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to: Sherman Church of Christ, Camp Northward, St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, or Autism Speaks.
