Jean Delaney

Lillian “Jean” Delaney, age 69, of Walton, KY passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 9, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY.  Born May 29, 1952 in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of Mary Magdalene Overbay and the late Lawrence William Overbay.

Jean was retired as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Covington.  She was a graduate of Simon Kenton High School in Independence.  In her retirement she enjoyed spending time searching through ancestry, sewing, fishing, reading, playing euchre and was described as a “heck of a cook” but her greatest fulfillment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom lovingly called her “Mamaw”.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother: Mary Magdalene Overbay; one daughter: Shannon Delaney of Hebron; two sons: Christopher Lee (Andrea) Delaney of Fort Wright, Brian (Kimberly) Delaney of Independence; two brothers: Timothy (Pamela) Overbay of Crittenden, Leslie (Constance) Overbay of Walton, her partner of 19 years: Rodney Blanton of Walton and the father of her children: Daniel Delaney of Ryland Heights, along with 15 grandchildren: Danielle, Alexis, Justin, Ariana, Brayden, Antonio, Isabella, Trinity, Shelby, Logan, Lillian, Savannah, Hunter, Brooklyn, Jaime and four great-grandchildren: Jiriyah, Jayden, Julien and Indie.  She was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Booth.

Visitation will be Friday April 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home – Verona; funeral services will begin at 2:00 with Bro. Daniel Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery.
