Jeanetta Gay Webb Blackburn of Williamstown KY was born August 16, 1939 in Williamstown, KY and died Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Williamstown at the age of 85 years.
She was the daughter of the late Ira Powell and Myrtle Baker Webb. She was a 1957 graduate of the Williamstown High School, a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church, and retired from Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati. On July 4, 1959 she was united in marriage to Bobby Blackburn, who preceded her in death on August 2, 1987.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gay was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan Carol (Jack) Cornman.
Gay or “Nanny” as she was affectionally known enjoyed her family and spending time with them. She loved road trips and taking in the scenery. She was noted for having a green thumb, and enjoyed watching the birds at her feeders.
Surviving is her daughter, Meleasa Sherman of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Tim (Shane) Sherman of Crittenden and Mikayla (Hunter) Carmon of Williamstown; two brothers, Bill Webb of Dry Ridge and Bobby (Lori) Webb of Williamstown, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Williamstown Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Williamstown Baptist Church.
