Jerry Blaine Barnes

Jerry Blaine Barnes, 81 , a Dry Ridge, KY resident died Friday April 14, 2023 at his residence.  Born Saturday August 9, 1941 in Grant County, KY, he was the son of the late Jerry Newton and Mary Margaleane (Boswell) Barnes.

On October 24, 1970 Jerry was united in marriage to the former Deborah Kay Wyatt; she survives. Upon graduating from Grant Co. High School in 1960, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  For 30 years he was a Locomotive Engineer for L & N Railroad which later became CSX Railroad. He was an antique gun and two-cylinder John Deere Tractor Collector; he was also a frequent exhibitor at the National Gun Day and Jag Military Gun Show in Louisville, KY, Wanenmacher’s Tulsa Arms Show in Tulsa, OK, the Tanner Gun Show in Denver, CO as well as many other gun shows throughout the country. He held memberships in the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, the Kentuckiana Arms Collectors Association and Stringtown Christian Church.  He was the proud owner of six English Bulldogs throughout the years.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Debbie Barnes; one son: Jerry Blaine Barnes II of Dry Ridge and two brothers: Victor (Lyn Petz) Barnes of Demossville and Dave (Darlene) Barnes of Villa Hills.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with Rev. Kevin Murphey officiating.  Private burial will take place at KVC-N the following day.
