Jerry Wilford Stone, 75, of Dry Ridge, KY, died Friday May 6, 2022 at St Elizabeth Medical Center – Edgewood. Born Wednesday November 13, 1946 in Dry Ridge, KY, he was the son of the late Robert Wilford Stone and Dorothy McCoy Stone. On July 15, 1966 he was united in marriage to the former Janice Stewart; she survives. After 35+ years, Jerry retired from Delta Airlines at Greater Cincinnati Airport (CVG). He was a lifelong farmer; he enjoyed raising tobacco and tending to his Charolais cattle, but his greatest pride and joy came from his three sons and grandchildren. Following his graduation from Grant County High School in 1964, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served for two years during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Sherman Church of Christ. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 56 years, Janice Stone; three sons: Robert Wilford Stone of Crestwood, Jeffrey (Melissa) Wayne Stone of Dry Ridge, Kevin (Lisa) Joseph Stone of Dry Ridge; one brother: Danny (Elaine) Stone of Walton; two sisters: Judy (Rick) Williams of Owenton, Debbie (Doug) Johnson of Warsaw, along with eight grandchildren, whom lovingly called him “Paw Paw”: Mitchell Stone, Luke Stone, Emma Stone, Carrie Mae Stone, Adam Stone, Keith Stone, Alex Herrmann and Brooke Herrmann. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Anthony Stone. Visitation will be Tuesday May 10, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown location. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 with Bro. Tim Seevers and Bro. Scottie Simpson officiating. A 2:00 arrival time for burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (KVC-N) with Military Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be: Rob, Jeff, Kevin, Danny, Aaron, Mitchell and Luke Stone; Honorary Pallbearers will be: Keith Stone, Adam Stone and Alex Herrmann. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Mr. Stone’s memory to any wounded veteran’s organization or Sherman Church of Christ.
