Jim Harvey Coy

December 12, 1953 — February 6, 2024

Jim Harvey Coy, a Park Hills, Kentucky resident, passed away Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born in Covington, Kentucky on Saturday, December 12th, 1953 at St. Elizabeth Hospital to the late Harlen and Alice Coy. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a sister, Laura Sue Coy.

Jim attended Holmes High School in Covington, Kentucky until joining the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country from 1972-1975 during the Vietnam War Era. Following his time in the military, Jim worked for a number of years as a press operator at Loroco Industries Incorporated & Royal Pad Paper Company located in Blue Ash, Ohio. He adored watching westerns, shark, and military movies. Coffee and dogs, every dog he ever met, were two of his biggest loves in life. His favorite holiday was Halloween, with Christmas being a close second, and he never missed a car show when one came to town.

Jim is survived by his adoring sisters, Ann Walsh and Kay Coy, both of Park Hills, Kentucky. Also surviving is his nephew, Jamie H. Coy of Park Hills, Kentucky. Jim was considered more like a father to him than an uncle, and over the years Jamie became more like a son to him in his eyes. The two would often be found fishing together at their favorite fishing spots around the trip-state, which included Doe Run and Chaps Lakes. Jim will be deeply missed by numerous friends and family. "His body is gone, but his spirit is with us and so are the memories we will always have of him."

A Memorial Service to honor Jim's life and military service will later be held at a to-be-determined date and time; he will be laid to rest at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky alongside his fellow veterans.
