Joan Taylor Richardson

Mrs. Joan Taylor Richardson, a Georgetown resident, passed away at her daughter's residence on January 28, 2024 at the age of 79.  She was the widow of the late James Richardson.

Joan was a retired computer programmer for the KY Cabinet for Economic Development.  She was a member of the Stonewall First Church of God.  She was a very religious woman whom loves Jesus, Bible studies, vegetable gardening, canning, flower gardening and quilting.  She also enjoyed mowing and grooming her yard and wasn't afraid to swing an axe to split wood.  She was a great cook and was known for her annual pig roast she hosted as well as her home made chicken and dumplings and macaroni salad.  Her family describes her as a fun loving woman whom never met a stranger and loved to spend time with her family.

Joan is survived by her son Russell (Cassandra) Powers, daughter, Paula (John Burke) Kiser-Burke, three brothers, Tommy (Cheryl) Taylor, Billy (Lucy) Taylor, Jack (Pauline) Taylor, one grand-daughter Chelsea (Andrew) Morin, and two great grandchildren, Amelia and Kyle Morin.  In addition to her husband James, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Charles and Jimmy Taylor and one sister Joan Mullins.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Stonewall First Church of God on February 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  The church is located at 8716 Cincinnati Pike, Sadieville, KY 40370.  Pastor Roger Wells will be officiating services.  She will be interred at the KY Veterans Cemetery North at the convenience of the family.  McDaniel Funeral Home of Corinth, KY is handling arrangements.
