Joan Frances Wagner, 73, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Thursday May 20, 2021 at the Grant Center. Born Thursday April 23, 1948 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Edna Elizabeth Arend Ruark.
On September 22, 1967, Joan was united in marriage to Jimmie R. Wagner; he preceded her in death on March 24, 2018. She was a dedicated housewife and homemaker. The center of her life was her family… loving and nurturing them and helping create a wholesome and pleasant environment. She was a 1966 graduate of Grant County High School and was a member of Carter’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Demossville.
Survivors include one son: Jimmie “Rocky” (Denise) Wagner of Hebron; one daughter: Jeanna Wagner (Itza Pichardo) of Nashua, NH; one brother: James Lewis (Diane) Ruark, Jr. of Crittenden; and one sister: Gail (Doc) Bowen of Crittenden. Two grandchildren also survive: Ashley (Tyler) Beik, Grayson Wagner along with one great-grandson: Aiden Beik, all of whom lovingly called her “Maw-Maw”. She was preceded in death by a sister: Donna Ruark Whelan.
Visitation will be Sunday May 23, 2021 at McDaniel Funeral Homes in Dry Ridge from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. At the close of the visitation there will be some personal comments and a prayer led by Pastor Beverly Ketron.
At a later date, at the convenience of the family, the burial of her cremains will be placed next to her husband in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory to: St. Elizabeth Hospice Care 438 South Loop Edgewood, KY 41017.
