John Lucien Marinacci

June 11, 1951 — January 14, 2025

John Lucien Marinacci , 73, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered his eternal home on Tuesday January 14, 2025, at Villaspring of Erlanger. Born on June 11, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Luciano and Jean Romano Marinacci.

On April 23, 1988 John was united in marriage to the love of his life; he is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Denise Marie Colon. In grade school he attended Incarnation Catholic School and graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens, NY. He excelled in all things with great intellect; as a great athlete as well, playing multiple sports; he was considered by many to be the best at whatever he did. In the early 60’s he played as a pitcher for the Rochester Red Wings Minor League Baseball team in Rochester, NY; however, an injury prevented him from going pro. Being a food connoisseur, he acquired great knowledge in judging matters of taste in a variety of foods.

Because of his love for horses and horse racing, in his younger years, he traveled all over the country to horse tracks as a groomer of horses. He particularly took great delight in working with thoroughbred horses at Belmont Park. Being active in the lives of his children, playing sports and fishing with them allowed him to play an important role as their mentor. They have many fond memories of the many fishing outings they were on together.  He previously was the owner and operator of John’s Truck Wash in Crittenden and JLM Roofing in New York.  The greatest legacy he leaves is his genuine love for the Lord. He took every opportunity to share his faith with his friends and co-workers. He was actively involved in the ministries of Lighthouse on the Rock Church in Dry Ridge.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, Denise Marinacci, he leaves to carry on his legacy of love and commitment, two sons: Christian John (Terra) Marinacci of Florence, KY, Brett Butler Marinacci of Cheyenne, WY; one daughter: Samantha Jean Marinacci of Crittenden, KY; two sisters: Joan Bansen and Jean Marinacci, both of Long Island, NY and three grandchildren: Madelyn, Gabrielle and Ethan.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday January 18, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Lighthouse on the Rock Church in Dry Ridge, KY with Pastor Jeff Colon officiating.
