Johnetta Stone Alexander

July 31, 1927 — April 23, 2021

Johnetta Alexander, 93, of the Mt. Zion Community of Grant County, passed away Friday April 23, 2021 at her residence.  Born Sunday July 31, 1927 in Lancaster, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Jefferson and Margaret Huffman Stone.

In June of 1962 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Johnetta was married to Dannie Bruce Alexander; he survives. After 28 years, she retired as a caretaker for Dry Ridge Personal Care.  She had a genuine passion for fishing, she loved sewing, quilting and playing crossword puzzles; she was an avid reader and sports enthusiast, more specifically, she loved watching “The Big Red Machine”.  She will long be remembered for her amorous desire for watching the birds in her bird feeder every morning from her kitchen window. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Johnetta leaves to carry on her legacy, four daughters: Rita Wilson of Lagrange, KY, Kathy (Richard) Haley of Florence, KY, Candy (Darrell) Link of Williamstown, KY, Marti (Jeff) Crowder of Bethel, OH; one son: Larry (Mary) Beighle of Louisville, KY; one sister Gail (Roger) Brown of Windham, OH, one daughter-n-law: Lou Ellen Alexander of Walton, KY.  Thirteen grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called her "Mamaw Johnnie".  She was preceded in death by a son: Kevin B. Alexander; three brothers: Eugene Stone, Ralph Stone, A.J. Stone and three sisters: Elizabeth Miller, Mary Baker and Connie Ingram.

Visitation will be Sunday April 25, 2021 from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Crittenden location). Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Johnetta's son-n-law, Darrell Link will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Stanley Funeral Homes Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m.
