Johnny Ray Garnett

Johnny Ray Garnett, 67 , of Corinth, KY passed away Tuesday May 17, 2022 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born Tuesday January 4, 1955 in Owen County, he was the son of Myrtle Marie Bruner Garnett and the late Harry C. Garnett.

Johnny was a likable individual who endeared himself to everyone who knew him. He was a foreman for the KY State Highway Department based in Scott County. Working the farm and raising cattle brought much enjoyment to his life, but his greatest pleasure came from spending time with his close-knit family, especially, his grandchildren whom lovingly called him “Papaw”.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Marie Garnett of Corinth; two daughters: Erika Garnett of Sadieville, Faith Garnett of Georgetown; one brother: Ricky (late Carolyn) Garnett of Lawrenceburg; three sisters: Peggy (Donnie) Dyer of Corinth, Mary (late Greg) Hall of Corinth, Barbara (Tommy) Murphy of Sadieville, along with two grandchildren: Jason Crump and Makayla Crump. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.  In addition to his father, Harry C., he was preceded in death by two great-nephews: Tyler Crosthwaite and Caleb Dyer.

Visitation will be Saturday May 21, 2022 at McDaniel Funeral Homes in Corinth from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the service at 2:00. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Joshua Crump, Tony Epperson, Larry Lynn Carr, Matt Dyer, Greg Crosswaite and Jason Hall; Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joe Traylor, Ricky Garnett, Ricky Garnett, Jr., Jason Beatty and William Murphy.
