Johnny Powell

Johnny Powell was born November 28, 1947 in Oneida, Kentucky and passed away peacefully November 30, 2024 in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 77.  He was the son of the late John and Lola Lovins Powell.

Johnny was united in marriage to the love of his life, Charlotte Sue Powell.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Jason (Robbin) Powell of Sanders; two grandchildren: Jared (Kali) Powell and Courtney (Ryan) Hanson; three great grandchildren: Chrisleigh Powell, Jace Powell and Jarrison Hanson; and four brothers: Kenneth Powell of Lexington, Carlo Powell of Williamsburg, Willie Powell of Williamsburg and Elijah Powell of Williamsburg; He was preceded in death by a son, Nelson Shane Powell, a sister, Maxine Jones, and a brother, Billy Powell.

Johnny was a member of the Concord Pentecostal Church in Gallatin Co.  He was a retired over-the-road truck driver hauling cars for Complete Auto and also was co-owner of Gallatin Auto Sales in Glencoe with his wife Charlotte for several years.  When he wasn't working he could often be found in his garden or reading a good book.  One of his greatest passions was reading his Bible and studying the Gospel.

A memorial visitation will be 1:00-3:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Memorial services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, December, 7, 2024 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home.
