Johnny True

John W. True , 79, of Corinth, KY, entered his eternal home on Thursday January 30, 2025 at the Grant Center – Williamstown.  Born on July 30, 1945, in Owen County, KY, he was the son of the late Donald Edward and Mary Ellen Howard True.

On June 18, 1986 Johnny was united in marriage to the love of his life,  Darlene Clayton True.  After spending many years at IBM in Lexington, he retired as a Typewriter Tester. After his retirement he became a self-employed entrepreneur, owning and operating his mobile truck wash business (J & D Mobile Wash) all throughout northern Kentucky. Being an antique car enthusiast, he was a member of the National Street Rod Association; he enjoyed competing in many car shows over the years. He enjoyed dancing and all types of music but his greatest fulfillment and satisfaction in life came from his love for his family and the Lord. Johnny was a faithful Christian and a member of Canby Tabernacle but in recent years he attended New Columbus Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, Darlene True, he leaves to carry on his legacy of life and love, one son: Larry Jay Gallagher of Sadieville, KY; four daughters: Tammy (Rob) Gosney of Butler, KY, Tara (Chad) Wright of Corinth, KY, Jodie (Mike Rice) Hall of Georgetown, KY, Melissa (Ricky Wells) True of Cincinnati, OH; along with one grandson, Jaylen Gallagher;  two sisters: Mary Frances (Don) Colston of Florence, KY, Valerie (Jeff) Perkins of Corinth, KY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Tatum and her husband, Frank Tatum.

Visitation will be Sunday February 2, 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Visitation will resume on Monday morning February 3rd at 11:00 at New Columbus Methodist Church and go until the time of the funeral at 1:00. Interment will follow in the True Cemetery.
