Joseph Gilbert Van Arsdall, 61, of DeMossville, KY, passed away Thursday March 3, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical center - Edgewood. Born Thursday March 24, 1960, he was the son of the late George Gilbert and Beulah Ellen Rhodes Van Arsdall.
On December 30, 2000 he was united in marriage to the former D’ann Runyon; she survives. He dedicated his career as an Auto Electrician, spending much of his career at Swallen’s in Florence; he received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Gateway Community College.
Over the years, he has been involved in many other activities; he owned and operated JV Mobile Electronics & Hobbies; he worked for the Pendleton County Board of Education as a substitute teacher; he coached the Robotics Club in Pendleton Co. and will long be remembered for his love for classic cars along with his particular love for Mopar products, representing Chrysler and Dodge auto industry.
Joe fully committed himself to everything he did; he was an avid gun enthusiast, a hardcore veteran, and was extremely patriotic and actively exercised his 2nd Amendment rights. He was a member of the “Old School” RC Car Association, National Rifle Association, a Kentucky Colonel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and attended Grassy Creek Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, D’ann, he leaves to celebrate his legacy, two sons: Joshua James Van Arsdall, Zachary Christopher (Victoria Krodel) Van Arsdall, both of DeMossville; one daughter: Corie McKibben of Northern Kentucky and a sister: Audrey (Todd) Smith of Florence. Two grandchildren also survive: Magdalene “Maggie” Lucy Van Arsdall and Maria Heather Rose "Rosey" Van Arsdall along with a nephew: David Hughes of Florence and nieces: Tara Laird of Watseka,Il and Tonya Ford of Norwood, OH.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Saturday March 12, 2022 at Stanley Funeral Homes – Crittenden location. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and go until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Seth Adamson officiating. Burial of cremains will take place on Wednesday March 16 th at 10 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) in Williamstown. (Friends and family may gather at KVC-N at 9:45 a.m. at the Administration Building.)
