Joseph Clay Vance, 90, of Corinth, KY, died Friday August 12, 2022 at Thomson – Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. Born Friday January 29, 1932 in Scott County, KY, he was the son of the late Roy and Pearl Sutton Vance. Joe was employed for many years as a driver for Green Line Bus Services and Roadway Trucking. He served as Mayor, Police Officer and later Constable for the City of Corinth. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was a member of Lexington American Legion Post 313, Lexington VFW Post 680, Newport Lodge #358 F & AM, Lexington Korean War Veterans Association, a lifetime member of DAV (Disabled American Veterans), the Purple Heart Association and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter: Kim Vance of Corinth; one brother: Earl Vance of Georgetown; two grandchildren: Chad Parsons of Corinth and Whitney Franklin of Crittenden along with two great-grandchildren: Courtney Metz and Kendra Franklin, both of Crittenden. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Carol Vance; two sisters: Lucille Ratcliff, Artie Burgess and one brother, Chester Vance. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday August 17, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) with full military honors. McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth is handling arrangements for Mr. Vance.
