Josie T. Blake

Mrs. Josie T. Blake of Corinth, KY. passed away Monday, October 15 at the Grant Center Nursing Home at the age of 99. Mrs. Blake was born January 31, 1919 in Nicholas County, KY. to the late Henry and Molly Herrin. Mrs. Blake was a homemaker and a farmer and she was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Blake was a long time housekeeper and cleaned the former Rogers Funeral Home for many years. Mrs. Blake was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and she was a baseball fan as well.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her husband: Woodford Barton Blake, Sr. in 1985 and by a daughter: Berttie Sue Switzer on April 8, 1992.

Mrs. Blake is survived by a son: Woodie Blake of Corinth, KY., a daughter: Betty Lou Vance of Berry, KY., 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Josie T. Blake will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, October 20 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth, KY. with Rev. Quintin McNabb officiating. Visitation will be there on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. Burial and committal will be on Saturday, October 20 at 2:00 pm at the Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle, Nicholas County, KY.
