Joyce Elaine Fogle

J oyce Elaine Souder Fogle, 77, of the Sherman Mt. Zion Community of Dry Ridge, KY, entered her eternal home on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on June 28, 1946 in Walton, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil B. and Mildred Eileen Flynn Souder.

On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Donald Fogle; he survives. She was a graduate of Grant Co. High School. For almost 35 years, she was employed by the Internal Revenue Service where she worked as a Background Investigator for all federal employees.  Her life centered around her love for the church.  Volunteering at church played an important role in her life, using her musical talents and gifts, she loved playing the piano and singing in the choir.  Many children will long remember her loading up her green Voyager van every summer picking up kids to take to Vacation Bible School.  Because her children were greatly involved in 4-H, she, along with her husband, Donald, started up the Grant Co. Sheep Club.  In earlier years, she enjoyed clogging and doing seamstress work.  For many years, she was involved with the ministries at Unity Baptist Church; her current membership was at Big Bone Baptist Church in Union, KY.

She leaves to carry on her legacy, her husband of 60 years, Donald Fogle; two daughters: Gail Fogle and Marie (Bryan) Reynolds, both of Dry Ridge, KY; one son: Carl (Valerie) Edward Fogle of Independence, KY; two sisters: Janice Hale of Gallatin, TN, Edie Parsons of Williamstown, KY; one brother: Terry Souder; along with seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called her "Mamaw".  She was preceded in death by two brothers: Billy Yelton, Jimmy Souder and two sisters: Cecilia Kells and Sharon Wainscott.

Visitation will be Friday April 26, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. John Sheaffer officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery.
