Kathy Merrill Nickell

Kathy Delores Merrill Nickell, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Villa Springs Nursing Home in Erlanger at the age of 66.  She was the widow of Larry Nickell.

On October 19, 1952, Kathy was born in Dry Ridge to the late Andrew and Ona Perkins Merrill.  Kathy attended Grant County School where she met the love of her life, Larry Nickell.  On July 17, 1971 Kathy and Larry were united in marriage.  From this union, was born and survived by one son, Robbie (Mary) Nickell of Dry Ridge, KY, Susie (Derrick) Plunkett of Crittenden, KY.  In addition to their children, Kathy is survived by four brothers, Andrew (Mabel) Merrill, Jr. of Florence, KY, Gary (the late Barb) Merrill of Dry Ridge, KY, Billy (Sharon) Merrill of Dry Ridge, KY, Elmer (Vickie) Merrill of Dry Ridge, KY, four sisters, Joyce (Gary) Denny of Williamstown, KY, Evalene Davis of Williamstown, KY, Lucille (the late James) Lee, of Dry Ridge, KY, Carolyn (Gary) Nickell of Williamstown, 3 grandchildren, Morgan Robinson, Katlynn Nickell, Hoyt Plunkett, 2 great grandchildren, Whitley Robinson and Karter Long.

Kathy was a former food service manager for Kiddie College in Dry Ridge of over 19 years.  She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dry Ridge, KY.  She loved to read, spend time with her dog, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 12-2pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will follow at 2pm.  Pastor Dustin Plunkett will be officiating services. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.  Memorials are suggested to your choice of Revive GC, 2020 Taft Hgwy, Dry Ridge, KY 41035 or the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6350 Warsaw Rd., Dry Ridge, KY 41035.
