Kenneth Eugene Kirk, Jr., 82, of Williamstown, KY, passed away on Sunday September 29, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood, with his wife of almost 60 years, by his side. Born on March 10, 1942 in Seth, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Kenneth Eugene and Juanita Faye Workman Kirk, Sr. On February 21, 1966 he was married to the former Judith A. Vigil; she survives. For many years, he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for Sysco Food Distributors in San Francisco, CA. Upon graduating from high school, on July 11, 1961, he entered the United States Navy; he proudly served his country serving in Vietnam. After serving for almost 3 years in active duty, he enlisted in the Navy Reserves. Being an outdoors enthusiast, he loved watching the elements of nature; he enjoyed fishing and was an avid wood worker; he especially loved hand-making walking sticks and canes. He will be long remembered as a hard working husband, father, “Papa” and “Grandpa” that deeply loved his family. He was a member of Teamsters Union 588 (International Brotherhood of Teamsters – Oakland, CA) and St. William Catholic Church in Williamstown. Survivors include his wife, Judith A. Kirk; two sons: Kenneth Alan Kirk of Walton, KY, Kevin (Andrea) Kirk of Williamstown, KY; one daughter: Katherine (Josh) Wright of Murfreesboro, TN; three brothers: Alan Joseph (Diane) Kirk of Grand Haven, MI, Thomas (Denise) Kirk of Lahmansville, WV and Oscar Michael (Melinda) Kirk of St. Albans, WV. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Kenneth Anthony Kirk, Corey Brown, Kayli Kirk, Albert Garcia, Jessica (Wes LeMay) Almazon, Jade Aragon, Peter Kirk, Joshua Wright and six great-grandchildren: Kendra Kirk, Kenneth Scott Kirk, Suzie Kirk, Shelby Mitchell, Kamron Almazon, Rhilynne Almazon; one great-great grandchild: Oliver Wells as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is a grandson, Jonathan Wells. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday October 7, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at St. William Catholic Church in Williamstown. Visitation will begin at 10:30 and go until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow, with full Military Honors, in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N); arrival time is scheduled at 2:00.
