Kennett Alexander Bivens, Sr.

June 29, 1940 — August 8, 2022

Kennett Alexander Bivens, Sr. was born June 19, 1940 in Bakersfield, California and passed away August 8, 2022 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 82.  He was the son of the Late Paul and Edna Halvey Bivens.

Kennett was an over-the-road truck driver with many years partnering with his wife, Louise Bivens.  He also served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves for over 20 years.  Before he fully retired, Ken worked as a custodian at Grant County High School.

Ken was a private pilot and had a love of aviation and flying planes.  He also enjoyed RC airplanes and boats and spending free time fishing.  He was also a member of Cross Point Baptist Church in Crittenden.

On June 10, 2022 he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Louise Henry Bivins.  He is survived by 3 sons: Kennett "Alex" Bivens, Jr. of Washington, Paul Lee Bivens of Nevada and John William Bivens of Washington; 2 stepsons: Kerry (Sherry) Garnett of Williamstown and Kevin Glenn Garnett of Florence; 13 Grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 19, 2022 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.  Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North.
