Kitty Lee Rowe, 82, of Corinth, KY, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday September 9, 2021 at her residence. Born on February 3, 1939 in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Smith, Sr. and Jeanettie Irwin Smith.
Kitty’s greatest priority was to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She spent many years in service to her church, supporting missionaries around the world and working with children in Sunday School and Awana Clubs. Together with her beloved husband, Cline, they started and directed Awana Clubs in churches in the suburbs of Chicago where they lived for over 20 years and in Northern KY for the past 35 years. They had a passion for spreading the Gospel and serving others.
Cline and Kitty were married in Chicago, IL in 1966 but spent most of their 20+ years in the suburbs. They moved to Corinth, KY in 1986 and built their home together. In their earlier years, they enjoyed serving at their church associated Camp Manitoumi in Low Point, IL, where Kitty was a cook and Cline would do maintenance. Over the years, they have served with the church building association building churches in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.
Kitty’s hobbies included playing the guitar and singing, sewing and crafts. She spent many years singing in choirs and in Duets/Quartets in their church. She also had a passion for sewing. She would sew blankets for orphans in Louisville and dresses for children in Haiti. She made everything from fancy dresses for her 3 girls to “timeout dolls”. Most recently, Kitty would make masks and pillowcases to give as gifts.
Kitty loved to go out with her girlfriends on a nice Saturday morning to hit a few garage sales, spending her quarters that she would save throughout the week. Cline and Kitty also enjoyed traveling together to places from here to California, but their favorite place was Pigeon Forge, TN.
Kitty leaves to carry on her legacy, her husband of 55 beautiful years, Cline Rowe; two sons: Ralph Edward “Eddie” Roach of Knoxville, TN, James Byron “Bryan” Roach and his wife Donna of Mascot, TN; three daughters: Tina Rowe Miller and her husband Mikel of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Joan Renee Rowe of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Clinette Michelle Chilton and her husband, Camron of Sulphur Springs, TX; two brothers: Everett Schofield Smith and his wife, Janell of Biloxi, MS, Carl Smith and his wife Joan of Land O’ Lakes, WI.
