Larry "Punky" Burgess

Larry “Punky” Burgess, 74, formerly of Grant County, KY, passed away at home in Crestview Hills, KY on April 18, 2025. Born on November 26, 1950, he was the son of the late Noah Burgess and Lucille Charlene Elliott Burgess.

Larry was the third of four siblings, survived by his sister, Bonnie (Marshall) Scroggins and younger brother, Denny Burgess. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Charles Burgess.

Larry had a lifelong love of playing sports. He could often be found on the field playing baseball or adult softball, and he remained a passionate supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats. His extroverted nature and signature sense of humor brought joy to those around him.

Larry retired after more than 30 years of service with Roosevelt Paper Company. A man of faith, he was a member of the Florence Baptist Church and supported community outreach through Hope Ministries of Northern Kentucky, helping provide food, clothing, and household items to families in need.

He is survived by his daughter, Erica (Joe) Milesko, and son, Brandon (Jess) Burgess. He was a proud grandfather to Brooke, Sydney, and Joey Milesko, and to Cora, Roman, and Lacey Burgess. He is also lovingly remembered by his beloved Mary Farney, along with her daughter, Jennifer Ronae Farney and granddaughter Hudson.

Visitation will be held 11:00am-2:00pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
