Larry Gene Osborne

Mr. Larry Gene Osborne, a Sparta resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the age of 78.  He is the husband of Sharon Diamond Osborne.

Mr. Osborne was a retired Superintendent  for General Motors Corporation for over 38 years.  Larry was a former Lance Corporal infantryman of the U.S. Marine's and served his country from 1959-1963.  He is an active Mason of the Sharonville, OH Lodge #204.  He was a passionate cattle farmer and raised Santa Gertrudis show cattle.  He was a former chairman of the District 6 Santa Gertrudis Show and Sale, served four terms as director of the Santa Gertrudis Breeders International and was a 20 year member of the KY Santa Gertrudis Association, a former vice president of the Polled Santa Gertrudis Association and served the last 15 years as Secretary/Treasurer.  He loved UK basketball, football and Cincinnati Reds.  He loved his family and grandchildren dearly and is often described as a very giving man.

In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, Larry is also survived by five sons, L. Todd Osborne (Donna) of Lathrop, MO, D. Chris Osborne of Florence, KY, Matthew G. Osborne (Rianna) of Middlesboro, KY, Eric L. Osborne of Middlesboro, KY, Danny Clark of Dayton, OH, one daughter, Lisa Mitchell of Dayton, OH, three sisters, Brenda Roark (Billy Joe) of Monroe, OH, Patricia Manning (Gary) of Norwood, OH, Sharon Branham (Rodney) of Dorton, KY, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Larry is preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Kenny and David Osborne.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 5-7pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Masonic Services will start at 6:45pm, Wednesday, with the funeral to follow at 7pm.  Rev. Mark Moore will be officiating services.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 12:30pm at the Wright Family Cemetery, 100 Flatwoods Rd., Jenkins, KY 41537 with Bro.
