Lawrence Edward Gould , 77, of Hebron, KY, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center in Fairfield, OH. Born Sunday June 9, 1946 in Carroll County KY, he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Florida Elliott Purnell Gould.
On July 8, 1988, “Kool Gould”, as he became affectionately known, was united in marriage to the former Tammy Ann McDaniel; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2013. On September 4, 1968 he entered the military where he proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army; much of that time was served in Vietnam. After many years of dedication to Duro Bag in Florence, he retired, where he worked as a forklift operator and bailer. In his spare time, and particularly after retirement, one would find him tinkering with lawnmowers and bicycles; this proved to be a hobby he took much interest in, as well as his Cadillacs and Chevy trucks. While living in Hebron he served his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Hebron. He will be long remembered for his love for meatloaf and coffee. He was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons: Thomas (Alana) Edward Gould of Hebron, KY, Todd (Georgia) Allen Gould of Coca Beach, FL; one daughter: Miranda Scarber of Lawrenceburg, IN; one step-son: Brian Lloyd Riley of Indianapolis, IN and one step-daughter: Heather (Jose’) Bernice Riley of Florence, KY. He was lovingly known as “Papa” to his 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Valerie Jean Gould; he outlived all of his siblings, which include: five brothers: Benjamin Franklin Gould, James Gould, Charlie Lilly, Cecil Gould, George Purnell and four sisters: Mollie Lee Colston, Georgia Embree, Lottie Cuneo and Lula Moore.
