Lila Yvette Mcdaniel

Mrs. Lila Yvette McDaniel of Florence, KY. and formerly of Corinth, KY and Dry Ridge, KY passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22 at her home following a long illness at the age of 67.  Lila was born October 7, 1957 in Covington, KY. to Mary Jean Ware Edmonson and the late John Edmonson.

Lila was a graduate of Holmes High School in Covington and the Mid-America College of Mortuary Science.  Lila was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and along with her husband, Bob, formerly owned and operated the McDaniel Funeral Homes of Corinth and Dry Ridge.  Lila formerly served on the Corinth City Commission and was a founding member of the Corinth Women’s Club.  At the time of her passing she was a member of the Florence Church of Christ on Boone Aire Road.   Lila’s faith in God was immovable and unshakeable in spite of all her health problems and adversity she faced in life.  She truly had a servant’s heart and was superbly suited for a career in funeral service.  She was admired and loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, Lila was preceded in death by both of her daughters: Loni Barber died in 2000 and Laura Barber died in 2017.  She was also preceded in death by a brother: Wyatt Edmonson.

Lila is survived by her husband of 25 years: Robert D. McDaniel, a step son: Patrick Krah of Las Vegas, NV, her mother: Mary Jean Ware Edmonson of Covington, KY., a sister: Vanessa Edmonson of Covington, KY., three brothers: Carl Edmonson and his wife Karen of Florence, KY., Aaron Edmonson and Lynda of Covington, KY., Darren Edmonson of Covington, KY.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Yvette McDaniel will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, October 28 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY. 41097 with Bro. Jerry Carmichael and Bro. Milkweed Wotier officiating.  Visitation will also be Monday, October 28 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Burial will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.  Memorial contributions if desired may be given to the Florence Church of Christ or to the Corinth Christian Church.
