Linda Kay Simpson, 73 , a Highland Heights, KY resident, entered into her eternal rest early Wednesday morning April 5, 2023 at Cold Springs Transitional Care. Born Tuesday May 24, 1949 in Lafollette, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Edward and Dorothy Marie Potter Collier.
On November 20, 1972, she was united in marriage to Roger Lee Simpson; he survives. She was a dedicated homemaker and housewife. She loved singing, listening to country, gospel and 50’s music; she was an avid Elvis fan. While at Cold Springs Transitional Care she enjoyed playing bingo and doing arts and crafts. It was a known fact that Linda loved dogs but that love could never equal the love she had for her husband of almost 51 years, Roger; they were always the closest of soulmates. Also the love and commitment to her family accentuated the close-knit family atmosphere. Spending time and babysitting all her grandchildren brought much joy and satisfaction to her. When she was able to be active in church she attended New Haven Baptist Church in Norwood.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Lee Simpson; four daughters: Kathy (Scott) Wurtzler of Silver Grove, KY, Karen (late Andy) Davis of Winchester, KY, Kimberlee (Greg) Simpson of Highland Heights, KY, Kristy (Joshua) Jackson of Taylor Mill, KY; three sons: Robert (Kathy) Prewitt of Harrison, OH, Roger (Shannon) Simpson of Dry Ridge, KY, Michael (Melissa) Simpson of Wilder, KY and one brother: Larry Collier of Ohio. Also surviving are 46 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Deborah Zarmbus and a son-n-law: Jimmy Wurtzler.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 11, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the main chapel of Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery.
