Linda Susan Williams, a Williamstown, Kentucky resident, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family early Monday morning, June 17th, 2024 at the age of 73. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on Monday, September 4th, 1950 to the late Allen and Flo Rust. Linda is preceded in death by a number of her treasured dogs she had throughout life whom she loved dearly and constantly wanted more of to care for. She leaves behind her beloved long-haired Chihuahua, Foxy, who like the rest of her family, is a mess without her here with them.
Linda was a 1968 graduate of Walton High School and quite the car enthusiast in her younger days. She knew all there was to know about her standard-shift GTO Convertible and shiny blue Mazda Miata, two of her favorites throughout life. Linda served as a managing catering purchaser at the Gate Gourmet Airline Food Supply, handling food orders and helping to ensure a timely, memorable on-board dining experience for airline customers for over 30 years until her retirement in 2009. A devoted Christian all of her life with tithes and connections to a number of churches throughout Kentucky, Linda was an avid prayer warrior who brought a great number of people to Jesus. She often ministered to inmates at the jail and took mission trips to Mexico with her congregation, during which she gave away all the shoes she owned except the ones on her feet to those that needed them more.
Linda loved beaches, Ft. Meyers being among her favorites, but really any beach as long as she was joined by family. She adored hummingbirds and watching them float by as they fed on the nectar she put out for them among her flowers. Linda would also proudly gush that she held the title of the world’s biggest Robert Pattinson fan. She began and ran the largest, most successful fan page of his ever created: “Robert Pattinson Always The One” page, of which has gathered close to 11,000 followers. Rob and his supporters have lost one of their truest fans.
Linda is survived by her two brothers: Allen (Anita) Rust of Taylor Mill, Kentucky and Mike (Sarah) Rust of Bradenton, FL; her two adoring daughters: Rachel (Ryan) Linke of Dry Ridge, Kentucky and Melissa (Phillip) Smith of Grand Rivers, Kentucky; as well as her devoted husband of nearly 40 years, Ed Williams. The two met one evening as teenagers while out to dinner with a group of friends. From that night on, connecting and falling in love, they’ve been together ever since; uniting in marriage on Saturday, April 6th, 1985.
Linda leaves a lasting legacy of her three cherished grandchildren, Samantha Glass, Jeffery Smith, and Zoe Linke; it is in them that her great sense of humor will be kept alive for generations to come; along with those family members and friends that knew her best, who share in her stories, passing along the memories of her beautiful life and the moments they will never forget.
A memorial service for Linda will be held at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, Kentucky on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 beginning at 2:00PM. A meal to honor Linda’s memory will be held at the First Love Community Fellowship Church in Dry Ridge following her memorial service.
