Lois Elizabeth Castleberry , 77, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered her eternal home on Wednesday September 11, 2024 at her residence. Born on May 4, 1947 in Williamstown, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Opal Skirvin Colcord.
She was a graduate of Grant Co. High School; afterwards, she entered the nursing program at the University of Kentucky. It was at Cincinnati Bell that she met her future husband, Dennis Charles Castleberry; they were married on February 14, 1985, a relationship that lasted 39 beautiful and loving years. Growing up on her parent’s dairy farm, she developed a love for the outdoors; spending time in her flower garden and doing yard work brought her much fulfillment. Being a devoted animal lover, she was a strong advocate of Grant County Friends of the Shelter. Her church membership was at Union Baptist Church but up until her illness she and her husband attended Williamstown Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her husband, Dennis Castleberry and her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, “Chipper”. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Colcord and their first Jack Russell, “Cousin”.
