Lola E. Howard , 75, died Thursday September 5, 2019 at her residence in Dry Ridge, KY. Born Wednesday August 2, 1944 in Hulen, KY; she was the daughter of the late James Isaac and Minnie Mae Seal Bailey.
On October 22, 1960, she was united in marriage to Joe Larry Howard, he survives. She worked for 20 years as a Quality Control Inspector with GAP. Previously, she started volunteering at Williamstown School System in the cafeteria, but because of her love for children, she was soon endeared by all the children and fellow co-workers she became a full-time employee. She had also worked at Square D. She loved quilting and sewing but her greatest enjoyment came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that affectionately loved her as their “Mammy”. She was a committed Christian; she faithfully exercised her love for the Lord at Zion Baptist Church in Dry Ridge, where she held her membership.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years: Rev. Joe Howard, two sons: Larry D. (Marketa) Howard of Manchester, KY, Jake R. (Mechelle) Howard of Georgetown, KY; two daughters: Cindy L. (Robert) Rash of Dry Ridge, KY , Pam C. (Mike) Mullins of Williamstown, KY; one brother: Jake (Janie) Bailey of Owenton, KY and one sister: Louise Wilder of Cubbage, KY.
Eight grandchildren also survive: Michael (Tamara) Rash, Matthew (fiance' Sydnee Webb)Rash, Cheyenne Howard (fiance' Jonathon Collins), Bethany Turner, Stephanie Barnes, Cody Mullins, Brody Siler, Brayli Howard, along with 10 great-grandchildren: Bradley Rash, Andrew Rash, Charlie Sanford, Layla Newman, Grace Newman, Zachary Turner, David Joe Turner, Hannah Turner, Kimmy Mullins and Delaney Siler. Lola was preceded in death by seven brothers: Troy Ed Bailey, Maynard Bailey, Willie Bailey, Charles Bailey, Alfred Bailey, Paul Bailey and Gene Bailey.
Visitation will be Sunday September 8, 2019 at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown location from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 5:30 with Larry Howard and Jake Howard officiating. Burial will be Monday morning at 10:00 at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery – North in Williamstown, KY.
