Lowell Atwood Roland, 88, of Mt. Zion, passed away Sunday, November 12 at his home. He was a loving, generous, and Christ following husband, father, and grandfather.
Lowell was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Glenn Roland, parents, Manson and Estelle Roland, and brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Helen Roland. He is survived by the love of his life for 65 years, Nancy Chowning Roland. He is also survived by two daughters, Sheila Madden (Bill) of Mt. Zion and daughter Stacey Daley (Brian) of Smyrna, GA, four grandchildren, Kristen Chapman (Jason) of Crittenden, Rachel Baxley (Jeremiah) of Georgetown, Orry Madden (Brittin) of Belmont, NC and Liam Daley of Newman, GA, as well as one great-grandson, Everett Roland Chapman and many nieces and nephews.
Lowell served in the Army from 1955-1957 and was deployed to South Korea in 1955. He worked for Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati for 37 years while simultaneously operating the family beef cattle and tobacco farm. He was also the neighborhood machinist, and could fix anything that anyone needed, from home decor to truck parts. He was an active member of Williamstown Baptist Church and loved to spend the winter with his wife and friends of Hobe Sound, FL.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
