Luther Gillum

Luther Ray Gillum was born December 1, 1937 in Breathitt Co., Kentucky and passed away December 29, 2019 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 82.  He was the son of the late Luther and Fern Smith Gillum.

Luther was a retired Owner & Operator of Grant County Mechanical in Williamstown.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Luther's greatest passion was flying. He was a private airplane and helicopter pilot.

He is survived by 2 sons: Brian Gillum (Alesha) of Williamstown and David Garrett of Lexington; 3 daughters: Christine Breeden (Steve) of Bowling Green, Janice Marshall (Ernie) of Ringling, OK, and Theresa Fuimaono of Barstow, CA; a brother: Everett Gillum of Lexington; and 3 grandchildren: Dylan Collins, Katie Gillum and Kaley Breeden.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Lena Stacey.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Wiliamstown.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.
