Martha Irene Chaney Gay, 83, of Highland Heights, KY, formerly of Grant County, entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Rosedale Green Nursing and Rehab Center in Latonia. Born on April 3, 1940 in Irvine, KY, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Stella Black Chaney.
Martha was a retired factory worker and was a member of Corinth Christian Church. She was affectionately known as a “jack-of-all-trades”; she loved fishing, sewing, cooking, gardening and bird watching, but nothing brought her any more pleasure than being with her family, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom lovingly called her “Granny” and “Great-Granny”.
Survivors include one daughter: Rebecca (Allan) Sherman of Highland Heights; three grandchildren: Anthony Kain, Amanda Kain, Ariel Sherman; six great-grandchildren: Vincent White, Ila Kain, Arya Saylor, Zoey Saylor, Rylee Saylor, Jolene Saylor and two brothers: Edmond Chaney of Lexington, KY and Samuel Chaney of Frankfort, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Williams; five sisters: Catherine Tipton, Anna Bailey, Faye Brandenburg, Bettye Alcorn, Margaret Williams and two brothers: Charles Chaney and Johnny Chaney.
Visitation will be Sunday June 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon with Hospice Chaplain Judy Rahm officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
