Marvin Eugene Blevins, Sr.

November 7, 1937 — October 5, 2021

Marvin Eugene Blevins, Sr., 83, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away at the residence of a daughter on Tuesday October 5, 2021.  Born on November 7, 1937 in Harland County, KY, he was the son of the late Roy Eugene and Ethel Sommers Mink Blevins.

On September 26, 1969, Marvin was united in marriage to the former Judith Fae Burnette; she preceded him in death on February 26, 2006. He retired as a machine operator with Rotek Manufacturing in Florence. He will be long remembered as a “Fix-It” kind of guy; working on cars was his passion.  He loved finding a good deal, whether it be shopping at Goodwill or St. Vincent DePaul. However, the greatest legacy he leaves is…being a friend to anyone and everyone, teasing people, making them laugh and being such a loving individual.   He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Unity Baptist Church.

He leaves to carry on his legacy, three sons: Randall Lee (Michelle) Blevins of Erlanger, Ronald Eugene (Kim) Blevins of Independence, Marvin Eugene (Misty) Blevins, Jr. of Dry Ridge; four daughters: Rebecca Mae (Joseph) Hickey of Erlanger, Kathy (David) Amanns of Newport, Tonya Kay (Dennis) Bowling of Dry Ridge, Melody Jean (Joe) Adams of Loveland, OH, his long-time partner and caregiver, Janie Bowling and one brother: Larry Dale Blevins of Stafford, VA.  He will be affectionately remembered as “Papaw” by his twelve grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with another granddaughter coming very soon, Makinley Kay.  He was preceded in death by one brother: Walker Dwayne “Doc” Blevins; one sister: Phyllis Jeffers and a granddaughter: Jessica Nicole Hickey.

Visitation will be Saturday October 9, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Sherman Church of Christ.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with Rev. Larry Workman officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery.
