Marvin Ray Gordon

Mr. Marvin Ray Gordon, a Williamstown resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the age of 92.  He was the son of the late Teddy and Lorena Gordon and the husband of the late Hazel Gordon.

Marvin was a member of the Stringtown Christian Church and was a Marine Corps veteran in the early 1950's.  He was a truck driver for 33 yrs for Grant Co. Oil.  He loved to watch UK Basketball, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, travel to the mountains, play golf and grow gardens.  In earlier years he loved to play basketball with his family and volleyball with his church. In his free time he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by 2 sons, Randy (Jeanine) Gordon of Williamstown, KY, Ronnie (Gloria) Gordon of Williamstown, KY, one daughter, Frances (Mike) Plunkett of Berry, KY, two brothers, Calvin (Shorty) Gordon of Latonia, KY, Clarence (the late Barbara) Gordon of Florence, KY, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.  In addition to his late wife Hazel, he is preceded in death by one son, Rex Gordon (Dora), one sister, Beulah Ackman, and three grandchildren, Roger and Thomas Gordon, and Chastity Burgess.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will be at 1pm.  Pastor Seth Weigand will be officiating services.  Marvin will be laid to rest next to his wife in Williamstown Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family.
