Marvin Delano Huffman, 94, of Morning View, KY, died Thursday April 27, 2023 at his residence. Born on June 25, 1928 in Berry, KY, he was the son of the late Homer and Haleen McClure Huffman. On May 31 1969, Marvin was united in marriage to the former Mildred “Millie” Jean Adams; she preceded him in death on August 22, 2022. In 1951 he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was an Ironworker for Southern Ohio Fabricators and enjoyed being a lifelong farmer. He held membership in the Ironworker Local 44, Independence Masonic Lodge Local 123, where he had served as a Master Mason; he was a Kentucky Colonel and an associate with Farm Bureau. As part of his enjoyment in life he loved coon hunting, horse trading and attending horse pulls at local county fairs, but his greatest fulfillment came from being a dedicated and devoted husband, father and “Papaw”. Eight months ago he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, “Millie” Huffman, but his loving family will carry on his legacy; which includes: two sons: Marvin Michael (Sharon Marie) Huffman of Verona, Robert (Linda) Huffman of Covington; two step-sons: Doug Ashenbrenner of Salvisa, Benjamin Jones of Park Hills; three daughters: Phyllis (Jim) Woltermann of Union, Linda Howell of Covington, and Barbara (Michael) Thompson of Villa Hills. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving sibling of eight children; Opal Rosenstiel, Faye Lamb, Bobbie Dykes, Betty Sue Kennedy, Mary Jo Wood, Carl Huffman and Ray Huffman. Visitation will be Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 12 Noon – 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Homes – Verona. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 with Rev. Jerry Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona with Full Military Honors. Serving as Pallbearers are: Larry Huffman, Greg Huffman, Mike Webster, Donnie Huffman, Vic Rosentiel, Robbie Bowling and Cody Huffman.
