Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Spegal Brown, a Demossville resident, peacefully passed at Grant Center in Williamstown, KY on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was the widow of the late Chester Brown.
Mary was born in Covington, KY on July 8, 1939 to the late Kniffin Spegal and Lena Vest Spegal. She married Chester Brown, was a homemaker most of her life and a tobacco farmer in her early years. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church where she faithfully played the piano for several years. She dearly loved to listen to Gaither gospel music, watch videos of the Gaithers, travel to Gatlinburg, work in her vegetable garden and cook. In her free time she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Scott) Deglow, Patty (Brad) Burgan, four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Chester Wayne Brown, one daughter Virginia Annette Bowling, brother, Robert Spegal and her sister Virginia Adams. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whom knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY. Funeral services will be at 1pm. Burial will follow and she will be laid to rest next to her husband Chester at the Gardnersville Cemetery in Demossville. Bro. Ed Deaton will be officiating services. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia fund of the Children's Hospital.
