Mary Lou Catlett, 77, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Wednesday March 24, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence. Born Tuesday April 27, 1943 in Crittenden, she was the daughter of the late Henry Reid and Eloise Calvert Catlett. Interestingly enough, she lived her entire life on the farm she was born and raised on.
Mary retired as a nurse’s aide at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington after 30+ years of service. She loved knitting, walking in the park, gardening and participating in the Silver Sneakers Club. One would often find her walking in 5K walks for a number of charities. However, her greatest joy and contentment came from serving the Lord through the ministries of her church, Crittenden Christian Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher; she was highly instrumental in all phases of ministry, particularly, ministering to the needs of those in the community through their food pantry.
She leaves to carry on her legacy, two sisters: Annie Louise (late Thomas) Unkraut of Burlington, Helen (late Charles) Hudson of Williamstown; two brothers: James Catlett of Starke, FL and William Reid Catlett of Crittenden. Eleven nieces and nephews also survive: Jackie Crupper, Billy Catlett, Mary Lynn Wiesman, Traci Luckhaupt, Kimberly Hillenbrand, Rhonda Schueter, Rekenna Hopperton, Chuck Hudson, Lisa Breen, Paul Catlett and Robyn Falcone, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday March 27, 2021 at Crittenden Christian Church from 12 Noon – 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. with Officiants Cindy Wallace and Vickie Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Crittenden Christian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Crittenden Christian Church 106 N. Main St. Crittenden, KY 41030.
