Mary Louise Connelly

Mary Louise Brooks Connelly, a Crittenden resident, passed away peacefully at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 85.  She was the widow of the late Arthur Connelly.

Mary was born in Crittenden, KY on August 24, 1937 to the late Swango Brooks and Edna Mae Portwood Brooks.   In 1959 she was united in marriage to Arthur Connelly.  They were married for 56 years until he passed in 2015.  From this union, together, they fostered and cared for over 350 children during 32 years. She leaves behind four daughters, Melinda (Troy) Evans, Regina (Gary) Smith, Ame Perry, Christa (Rick) Menefee, eight grandchildren, Dylan, Kirstyn, Ginius, Caiden, Jordan (Pearl), Sabrina, Katie, Chelsea and one great grand-daughter, Aleah.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Robert and Tommy Brooks and one sister, Lucille Isaacs.

Mary enjoyed crafts, playing cards, shopping, flower gardening, cooking, watching UK basketball and vacationing on the beaches of Florida.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12noon-3pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY.  Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Goshen Christian Church cemetery privately and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home.
