Mary Jane Franks

Mrs. Mary "Jane" True Franks, a Williamstown, KY resident, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Gallatin Healthcare in Warsaw, KY at the age of 83.  She was the wife of Kenneth Newton Franks.

Jane was born in Lexington, KY to the late Zimmer True and Opal Brinnegar Paul on April 14, 1940.  She met her husband Kenneth in high school and married on June 9, 1962.   Jane was a former cook for Grant County Schools.  She was a farmer's wife whom worked hard throughout her entire life.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, cleaning, travelling and going on cruises.  She was a member of the Grass Run Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director.  Her family describes her as a loving, caring woman whom loved to converse and never met a stranger.  She cherished moments spent with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Kenneth, Jane is survived by two sons, Brian (Laura) Franks, Craig (Dana) Franks, foster siblings, Robbie (Paula) Worthington and Jeanne (Carol) Reid, four grandchildren, one great grandson,and her foster mother, Mary Worthington. She was preceded in death by her foster dad, Harold Worthington, two brothers, Zimmer True, Donnie True and sister Bernice Foll.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will be at 1pm. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
