Mary Lou Neal

Mary Lou Neal, 92, of Elsmere, KY, formerly of Dry Ridge, passed away Sunday July 4, 2021 at her residence.  Born October, 25, 1928 in Dry Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Spencer and Mamie Penick Cook.

Mary Lou worked as Program Manager for DuBois Chemical in Cincinnati. She was a community-minded individual whom loved serving the Elsmere community as City Councilwoman; a position she held for many years. She was a self-driven, motivated lady that loved to get things done!! She served as chairperson of the Elsmere Park Board; she was innovative in making the "Sounds of Elsmere" event very successful. While she was in her 40’s, she went to business college and earned a Bachelor’s Degree.  She was a member of the Elsmere Baptist Church.

Survivors include five grandchildren: Jennifer McIntosh, Lisa (Joe) Frost, Melissa Neal, Leslie Neal and Josh Neal; along with eight great-grandchildren: Christina Burke, Trevor Frost, Tanner Frost, Brooke Taylor, Justin Taylor, Cody Bayrori, Carson Neal Troy Neal; along with four great-great-grandchildren and two nieces: Debbie Gilbert and Tammy Parker.  She was preceded in death by both her children, a son: Dave Neal and a daughter: Diane Neal. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charlie Cook, Billy Cook and a sister: Jeanette West.

Visitation will be Saturday July 10, 2021 from 10:00 – 12 Noon at Elsmere Baptist Church in Elsmere, KY.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with Pastor Johnny Holloway officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
