Mary Jane Oaks

September 10, 1952 - February 24, 2021

Mary Jane Oaks was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 10, 1952 and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Edgewood on February 24, 2021 at the age of 68. She was the daughter of Opal Ottis and Ollie Kate Harrison Oaks.

Mrs. Oaks is survived by two daughters: Nancy Cheesman of Union and Lillian (Earl) Suddrath of Corinth; one brother: Jerry (Peggy) Oaks of Mt. Washington; three sisters: Lucy Smith of Newport, AK, Patty cook of Dry Ridge and Tammy Oaks of Crittenden; three grandchildren: Andrew Tubbs, Savannah Cheesman and Lacie Cheesman; and two great grandsons: Archer Cox and Waylon Boula.

One daughter died in infancy: Melissa Jo Oaks and one brother preceded her in death: Don “Mickey” Robinson.

Mary, early in life, was baptized in the Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville. The greatest love in her life, after her family, was fishing with her sister, Patty.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097 with Rev. Will Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Grant County Animal Shelter.
